Petite dose de NOIR?

Back in the 80's way up 'till a year ago, people with 'Gothic' style were labeled as depressive, sadistic,
weird and even Satanic. Back then we couldn't imagine that famous designers like Versace, Alexander McQueen, Gucci or Alexander Wang would even consider creating a Gothic collection. Nevertheless, now we can say that the fashion scene has finally 'legalized' Gothic style of clothing. However, there are lots of people who still have prejudices about black hair and make-up, pale skin, leather or ruffled garments, and lots of different accessories such as jewellery that represents occult themes, tightly laced corsets or gloves etc. Nowdays, we can see on every corner young people wearing creepsers. Altogehter, we can describe gotic fashion as dark and often morbid, eroticized fashion. And I must say that I absolutley love the new S/S13 collection STUDIA.PRJ made, mostly for men. From bottom to the top it's gothic inspired, you can check it out here.

CHANEL JACKET- the timeless symbol of class

When we think of Coco Chanel and her work, there are some unique settings
she made in fashion that we all know. The most important are certainly
the little black dress and the well known Chanel jacket. It has a very simple
cut and therefore it is known as an elegant part of the female wardrobe.
It is usually made of tweed , but also leather for cold winter days.
It is very important and interesting to know that, by the time the jacket
was designed, it is worn by women all over the world until now.
You can see it in every Chanel fashion show and they are unavoidable
when speaking of shootings . It's like there is no factor of time for this jackets. But, what would a perfect jacket look like? The answer is as simple as the jacket.
Every woman can wear it on its unique and special way. It fits to all fashion directions and matches perfectly with jewelry and all kinds of different scarfs.
Coco Chanel itself always said that clothes has to be transformed to fashion by the woman who wears it. It depends on what kind of jewelry you add
and what shoes you wear also which hairdo you make.
It all shows your indispensable and special kind of taste.
My point is, the Chanel jacket is one and only but it can be worn on all
kinds of different ways in order to be irreplaceable.

COCO CHANEL

The jacket below is made of fine leather and
was on the fashion show for winter 2010./2011.

"The CHANEL jacket symbolises a timelessly fashionable form of nonchalant feminine elegance:
it belongs to every era". These were Karl Lagerfeld's words at the end of the photo
shoot, for the book The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL's classic jacket revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld, in Paris.

NEON is the new BLACK!

It seems like we've all fallen under new fashion rule- and it's all about neon! Neon nails, neon shoes, neon shirts, neon accessorise, neon sunglasses and all other NEON stuff. You must admit that first thing that pops into your head by mentioning the word is old neon bar and disco signs from the past century,
that are still shining the streets of Las Vegas.
Nowdays, I can say that neon has a new meaning. It's a lot more wearable and less in your face.  If you want to show up to a party all
sparkle, at least you should do is not go too far with it (otherwise you'll look like your stuck in 90's)...
A few days ago I've read that in US neon nail polish is illegal(?!), which is very unfair to all fashionistas :(  Personally, I have a lot of neon stuff here in my room. My watch, swimsuits, flip flops, shirts, bags, jewelry,...
And I'm all crazy about it!

Interesting: In Greek the very word “neon” translates to “new one”, which seems ironic, considering every 20 years fashion finds a new use for it!
